ValWithProof is operated by Abhishek Jyothi, a sole proprietorship based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This policy describes what personal data the platform collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to https://www.valwithproof.com and every account on it.
Account details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, and — for mentors — your professional profile, LinkedIn and website links, photograph, session price and availability. Content you create: the ideas and briefs founders write, messages between founders and mentors, files either side attaches, session notes and ratings. Verification documents: a government-issued identity document, where a mentor chooses to send one. Payout details: the UPI ID and account name a mentor gives us so that we can pay them, and optionally the last four digits of a PAN. Technical data: IP address, browser type and timestamps, recorded when you sign in or a session is held.
We never see or store card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs or netbanking credentials — those go directly to Razorpay and never reach our servers. We do not store mentors’ bank account numbers at all: payouts are sent to a UPI ID, which is an address rather than a credential, and where older records hold bank details we retain only the last four digits and the IFSC. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
To create and secure your account; to match founders with mentors and run the sessions they book; to take payment and pay mentors out; to verify that a listed mentor is who they say they are; to notify you about your own bookings and messages; to investigate disputes and misuse; and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
With the other party to a session — a founder and the mentor they book see each other’s name, photograph, and everything either of them writes or attaches in that conversation. With our processors, and only for what they do: Razorpay (payments, refunds and payouts), Supabase (database), Render and Vercel (hosting), Google (the Meet room a session is held in, which is the mentor’s own), and an email provider for notifications. With authorities, where the law requires it. Identity documents are shared with nobody: they are visible only to the mentor who sent one and to ValWithProof administrators.
Data is stored on servers operated by our hosting and database providers, which may be outside India. We keep account and session records for as long as your account is open. Payment, refund and payout records are kept for at least eight years after the transaction, as tax law requires, and survive the closing of an account. Identity documents are kept only while they are needed for verification and are deleted when a mentor withdraws one or their account is closed.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored hashed and are never readable, by us or by anybody else. Uploaded files are served only to the people party to the conversation they belong to, and are checked on upload rather than trusted by their file name. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected users promptly if a breach puts their data at risk.
You can see and edit your profile in the product at any time, withdraw an identity document yourself, and ask us to correct or delete your personal data by writing to contact@valwithproof.com. We answer within 30 days. Some records — those behind a payment — we are required to keep even after an account is closed, and we will say so rather than delete them quietly.
The platform sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking or advertising, and there are no third-party advertising or analytics cookies. Clearing it signs you out.
The platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
